VACCINATIONS
Protecting your pet is one of our main goals here at Novato Veterinary Hospital.
That’s why we strongly recommend having your dog or cat vaccinated. When you choose to vaccinate your furry friend, you are doing your part to strengthen their immune system and protect them from potentially deadly diseases, including Rabies, Parvo, Panleukemia, Distemper, Calicivirus, and more. Whether you have recently brought home a new puppy or kitten or have an older pet who is due for a booster, we can help get (and keep) them on the right track toward a healthy, disease-free life.

CORE AND LIFESTYLE VACCINES
We believe that having your pet vaccinated is extremely important. However, we also believe it is crucial to avoid over-vaccinating them. Rather than taking a “one-size-fits-all” approach, we take the time to get to know our patients and consider several lifestyle factors when determining which vaccines they need.
While some vaccinations - including Rabies - are needed for all pets, some are not. The vaccines that all dogs and cats need are called “core” vaccines, while those that are only necessary for some pets are known as “lifestyle” vaccines. Our team will get to know you and your pet and ask a variety of questions - such as whether your pet frequents boarding facilities or attends doggy daycare - to assess which vaccines your furry friend truly needs. This prevents over-vaccination while ensuring that your dog or cat is protected from the illnesses they are most likely to encounter.
